Can she let down her guard long enough for Jason to get close? Or will she be too wary of his charms to give him a chance?
But Death Is Eternal
But, suddenly, budding friendship and new love interests lose importance, when a cold-hearted murderer starts to slowly kill off all the new friends Jasmine is making. The worst part? The killer is one of them, walking among them in secret. As the questions mount up, Jasmine finds herself lost in a mystery so deep, she's afraid she'll never surface. Will she be able to survive the obsession of a serial killer? Can Jason keep her safe with a madman determined to get her? Or will death stop all hope of love, friendship, and happiness for them all?

Excerpt:
The gazebo was coming up when a hand landed on my shoulder.
I jumped and let out a small yelp.
I looked back and saw it was just Jason.
I breathed a sigh of relief, than narrowed my eyes at my “assailant”.
“Jason! You scared the bejesus out of me! Hasn’t anyone ever told you not to sneak up on people? Especially when said person is the target of a serial killer!”
“Sorry! I just needed to talk to you. Privately.”
He glanced back at my armed guards and I sighed.
“Give us a little room boys, please.”
They looked at each other than at us and took two steps back.
“A little more, please.”
And, impertinently, which I definitely wasn’t in the mood for, they took only two more steps.
“MORE!”
They jumped and stared at the yell, and even Jason’s eyes widened at the tone. None of them had seen me actually lose it before. My eyes probably were wild and my face was probably the sternest it ever could be.
Hey! My life had been stressful lately! I think I have the right to a few moments where I lose all self control in a situation such as this! I mean, for goodness sakes, I had a whole list of complaints.
I had a murderer slowly killing my friends.
I had a madman terrorizing me.
I was the target of a rapist and a killer.
I had cops trailing me every single place I went.
I wasn’t allowed off the grounds of this estate.
I was stuck in a house full of spoiled rich kids complaining that they couldn’t go to the mall. (I’m serious!)
I had a spoiled little rich boy riding my tail so he could ride me, period.
Stressed? Oh, no, not me. I don’t know how you could think this walk in the park could be stressful.
If only life were simple.
The cops just stood there gaping at my sudden temper. They were like two statues. With guns. And every other kind of weapon you could think of short of an atom bomb.
I was too ticked off to care.
I growled at the offending officers, turned around smartly and stomped up the gazebo steps. I tossed over my shoulder a terse comment.
“You can see inside this thing from out there. Just watch from the bottom of the steps.”
They all just stood staring at me. Still.
“Jason, did you or didn’t you want to speak with me. Because believe me, there are better ways I could spend my time than this.”
That snapped him out of his daze and he slowly and proudly walked up the gazebo steps.
“You don’t seem in the best of moods today.”
I smiled sarcastically up at him.
“You think? Was it the yelling or the screaming that clued you in?”
He smiled cockily, sending my temperature through the roof, in both anger and desire.
“A little bit of both, actually.”
Cocky, little jerk.
I glare at his impeccably gorgeous face. Why couldn’t he have a mole or some disfiguring mark on him. Just one!
“Well, aren’t you the observant one. Wherever did you learn such talent in uncovering such things?”
I could see laughter in his eyes, taunting me and making me more and more mad. It was surprising that the gazebo hadn’t caught on fire with the heat that was pouring from my enraged eyes.
But it didn’t even faze Mr. Magnificence. Which just served to make me madder.
“It comes to me naturally.”
I wanted to slap him.
Oh, it was a craving. I could barely resist. In my mind’s eye, I watched as my hand slapped him as hard as it could, wiping that cocky smirk right off his face. My hand tingled with the thought. I gritted my teeth to keep from succumbing to the temptation.
“How lucky you are,” I gritted out, “But I hope you have something better than this to talk about, because this topic is getting really old, really quick. And I’m going to get old really soon if you don’t get to what you have to say.”
His cocky smirk widened. I curled my fingers inward. I didn’t want to slap him anymore. I wanted to take my fist and ram it into that pretty, little face of his. Maybe I could make a disfiguring mark on that blasted cherub’s face!
“Ah, yes. I can see your hair getting gray already,” His smirk suddenly disappeared, surprising me, “But what I wanted to talk to you about is a serious subject.”
I waited a few minutes as he seemed to be getting his thoughts together. After that, I just couldn’t take the silence.
“Well?”
